VERY laggy

I'm getting in the server etc but i lag so bad i cant even move. I have;

156kbps internet connection
NVIDIA Vanta graphics card
AMD Athlon processor ~1.3ghz
384mb ram

I shouldnt lag THAT bad with these specs, surely. I tried reducing colour to 16bit, no affect. Anyone help? It's 5am and i just wanna little play before i sleep :afro:

go into vid advanced and turn everything down your on the lower end of the comp spectrum

It's probably 'cause like 100,000 people are trying to dl cs:s.

try making a server on your own machine and see how much fps you get.
