I would probably go with the video card. (it might be because that's the weakest part of my system but who knows right?)
Your proc is pretty is pretty good and so you'll get the greater performance increase out of the X800pro.

P.S. Could I have your 9800 pro? How much do you want for it?

Neither. Save your money until you rig actually begins to show its age.

If you must upgrade, get the X800 Pro or the 6800 GT.

Yeah your system is far from outdated or needing an upgrade. Just save your money and later you can get a nice A64 system with a 6800GT or X800 pro. Your system still rocks. The only thing I would say is that if you have 512mb ram maybe you should think about upgrading to 1GB.

I'd say his computer is good enough already. But if he must upgrade, I'd say he should wait for something else, graphic cards and processors get outdated every year.
