Moscow sponsored Kadyrov is widely believed to have amassed a huge fortune from extorting kickbacks and from the illegal sale of Chechen oil. He has been repeatedly accused of serious human rights abuses in Chechnya, which include abductions, torture and excesses against civilians by the security forces under his control. He is also accused of propagating the personality cults of his father and himself.

German human rights group the Society for Threatened Peoples (GfbV), which branded Kadyrov a "war criminal", has alleged that up to 70% of recent incidents of murder, torture, rape and kidnapping in Chechnya have been committed by Ramzan's paramilitary forces.

The Memorial group investigator stated in its report: "Considering the evidence we have gathered, we have no doubt that most of the crimes which are being committed now in Chechnya are the work of Kadyrov?s men. There is also no doubt in our minds that Kadyrov has personally taken part in beating and torturing people. What they are doing is pure lawlessness. To make matters worse they also go after people who are innocent, whose names were given by someone being tortured to death. He and his henchmen spread fear and terror in Chechnya. They travel by night as death squads, kidnapping civilians, who are then locked in a torture chamber, raped and murdered"

Anna Politkovskaya, a veteran Russian reporter who specialized in Chechnyan reporting, claimed that she had recieved a video footage of a man identical in appearance to Ramzan. "....On them (the clips) were the murders of federal servicemen by the Kadyrovites, and also kidnappings directed by Kadyrov. These are very serious things; on the basis of this evidence a criminal case and investigation should follow. This could allow this person to be brought to justice, something he has long richly deserved," she said.

This is a sad day for these people. Why I'm against torture.

Vids ugh :( what the description of the second one? I'm not a liveleak member.

I mean what is the desription of the video at the site? Who is she, where is that etc?

She, was a woman in Russia who got up in one of Kadyrov's political scandals by incident. She was one of the names that another person was blurting during one of Kadyrov's interrogations, while of course, being tortured.

Kadyrov's corruption isn't just limited to Chechnya -- he's been going after people that have questioned his political and criminal history. She's just one of the many victims -- I'm not so sure what it is that divides Russian politics so much, but it seems like every General in they're military is a warlord unto himself.

Ok not nearly as bad as the other vids you posted...but why do you keep posting this shit?

kadyrov's forces really aren't nice people... they're pro Russian you say? Doesn't stop them from freaking out on their allies like this:

There is another video like the first one posted in the thread, but it has a different ending. Search for "Chechen rebel is killed" on LiveLeak if you have the guts. It's a video just like the first one, but they shoot the rebel.

What are they arguing about here?

Ok not nearly as bad as the other vids you posted...but why do you keep posting this shit?

I'm not enjoying this, but I posted these here for a reason.

1. They're relevant to past discussions we've had on Chechnya.
2. They're relevant to past discussions we've had on Attrocities of War.

It brings awareness up on multiple points because usually people don't seek out information unless they suspect something is missing. Television, the Newspapers -- I don't mean to proscribe this but, somethings just aren't mentioned or are selectively dismissed.

With this kind of information, people are now more aware of the situation abroad. It helps make sure that the politically naive don't make the same mistakes were all prone to reading about. I like to know whats going on.

What happened in the above video is this: Spetznaz guys run over a car, in the car was Kadyrov's brother, so the Russians get beaten to hell for it by a mob of Kadyrov's strongmen.

Wow -- it's like a more fatal version of Jackass. Kind of odd ... wonder why they were even doing this?

Who knows.

Organized crime like Kudyrov's outfit is by far Chechnya's number one problem since the second Chechen war. The huge danger of kidnapping and murder in and around Grozny comes mostly from these organizations. The problem is, the mafia-like system is deeply engraved in Chechen society. As Nemesis said, these groups don't care who they step on. In all likelihood, the only reason Kudyrov even claimed to support Putin is because corruption has been rife under his government, though corruption has been an issue in Chechnya long before Putin took power.
