So It just busted earlier today. I've been meaning to get a new one. But now I can't get in there to uninstall the driver(s) for the card. Can I put a new one in without problems to uninstall old drivers and get new ones?

Yeah, but how *MUST* I? When I plug in the card the screen stays completely black. The card has been terrible since I got it. Couldn't even play directx8 or 9 games. Its completely dead. The fan won't even go on when I plug it into the power supply and monitor

if there is no display from the video card then dont expect to do anything without buying a new card.

I don't see why the computer wouldn't boot after adding your new card, just uninstall the old and install the new ASAP.

once you get the new card you can run it without uninstalling the drivers from the old one just to get a picture again at least....but yes uninstall every trace of your old drivers. Even use a program like DriverCleaner if you can.

Ok, I'm doing the ATI trade card program. I'll use driver cleaner when I get my new card. Thanks (This is from my laptop by the way)
