Video card problem

I have a new laptop computer that has a built-in video processor that I can not swap out for a better one. It is a VIA/S3G UniChrome. I loaded HL2 and it says I can't play. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? The graphics card has played all other games I have thrown at it. Thanks

What other games have you thrown at it? Also, have you tried updating the drivers?

Just a couple thoughts.

That graphics card is only capable of DX 6 support when half life requires DX 7 or higher. With the integrated graphics you should not be able to play any recent games including Battle Field, Call of Duty, Far Cry, Rome Total War or anything else so what other titles have you tried? You can force half life to run but it wont be pretty and your frame rate might be really low.
