Video editing software for windows?

I am looking for a program that lets me chop up and export videos e.g. windows movie maker. My main problem at the moment is finding anything with a decent output quality, since WMM's output videos lack quality. Unless there is any way I can improve the fidelity of movies I make in WMM, does anyone know of any good video editing software for windows?

Sony Vegas is really good and easy to navigate for new users. There is a full version 30 day trial.

vegas is not only a lot smaller, but a lot cheaper. i use it myself.

Premier is a far, far more professional application and will have tons of shit you dont need.
