I have my computer connected to a 60 inch LCD rear-projection. I checked the game for widescreen support and also looked over the various 16by9 options while the computer was earlier connected to the CRT. My computer is currently running at 1280by720 at 60Hz on the big screen, with options for 1360x768, 1600by900, 1776by1000, 1920by1080 all available. However, when I go into Half Life 2, only the 848x480 widescreen option is available. If I try to force any other resolution through the launch options, I get an immediate Video Failure and rest to default options as it resizes in game. It does, oddly enough, allow me to run 1280by720 in Windowed mode (which is unplayably slow) but the second I full sreen it, I get the error. Basicly, no widescreen resolution other than default will work. Also, even at the low default resolution, the game doesn't run smoothly and stutters quite often. My system specs are Radeon 9800 overclocked higher than Pro speeds (stable as a rock, errors remain at stock speeds), with a AMD64 3000+ clocked at 3400(also rock stable) and 512MB of fast ram. That should be able to run the game with smooth with AA and AF off. Ideal wuld be to run 1280by720 Full screen at 60hz without crashing and smoothly. Any ideas???
