I'm tryoing to run a trailer for HL2 Lost Coast, problem is the video is too high quality and my computer can't run it very well without pausing every second or so, is there any way I can down the quality of the video a bit so my PC'll run it better?

Is the trailer streamed from the net or is it saved on your harddrive? If you are using Windows Media Player then go to Tools/Options/Performance and make sure the Video Acceleration slider is on full.

Funny thought. If you are watching a trailer for HL2 Lost Coast and it's jittery, do you think you will be able to play the game? :D
jk

I'm using Winamp, is there any way, I could stop Winamp from reading .wmv files o open the file with Windows Media Player, and I don't intend on buying the game, (mostly becuase I don't know what the hell it is, whether it's a patch, expansion pack or an individual game, secondly because my computer has only got 191 MB RAM, so it's slow as shizzle when it comes to games with graphical effort)

It's free as long as you have HL2.

You could right-click on the file and tell it to Open with...Windows Media Player.
Don't just double click or it will open with the program the file type is assigned to (winamp in this case).

Thanks, that's helped I can finally watch it now =D And thanks to PsychoFreak who cleared up that it was actually an expansion pack

Lost Coast is more of a tech demo level to show Source with higher detail and HDR (light adjusting as you move in and out of dark/light areas). I wouldn't say it was a game or expansion pack.

wouldnt recommend running lost coast with 191mb of ram. heck it runs bad with 384mb ram.

It recommends 1gb of Ram.
