I just... don't get it. Video games are the enemy, right? And they want kids to spend less time playing them, right? And yet they're getting rid of every good reason TO be doing something else. DOES NOT ****ING COMPUTE, ASSREAMERS.

Kids will be kids. They'll squabble and fight and push eachother around for no good reason. It's NORMAL BEHAVIOUR. You don't ban that shit just because you don't like it. If it's bullying, then fine, go to the school, sort it out for your kid, cause that's the only one you're responsible for. Don't force your dipshit rules on every other kid who might've just been doing it for innocent fun. Cause that's what you're robbing them of - innocence.

What he said. GROW UP PARENTS, ****ing accept it and move on. This shit was happening way before TV and video games were as big an influence as they are now, and being old enough to have been there they should know it.
 
Anyone think maybe the parents who're banning these playground games were the ones who always sucked at them? Because I can't believe anyone could look back on their childhood and say, "I don't want MY children playing tag; it promotes violence." I'm willing to bet they were the slow (speed-wise, not mentally) kids who could never tag anyone before they got to base, and ended up giving up right on the blacktop standing there like idiots.

They tried (and some schools complied, but most didn't) banning dodgeball in elementary schools here a few years back, and I think it's pretty much the same thing.
 
What about Bulldoggs, they banned that? Hope not, so much fun dump-tackling people all over the place! :D

Yeah, that thought crossed my mind. Getting revenge through their children or something.

Also, bulldoggs = bullrush? If so, that game was awesome. I was even one of the weedy kids who was never all that good at those types of games, but I still enjoyed it - more the dodging and weaving aspect than the tackling :D

Heh, I can't believe I only just realised how ironic this kind of thing is. All the nay-sayers, the finger pointers who try to tell us what's bad for us, what causes violent behaviour... they're the ones who encourage it. Cause every time I read about something like this, I get the uncontrollable urge to want to punch them in the face. And I'm really not a physically violent person by nature :|
