Vietcong 2 multiplayer demo

2K Games has released a playable demo (US mirror ~ 445MB) for Vietcong 2
The demo includes two maps, "Depot" and "Trail", that are playable in Capture the Flag, Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch modes with up to 64 players.

downloading too, was gona make a thread, hope its good, the original was supposedly quite a good game although very buggy...

just played a bit, standard ctf stuff, reminds me of what i played in vc1, the graphics/sound setup has the exaxt same options, no aa or af options, sound options the same, weapon sounds are recycled from vc1 and thats not a good thing imo, not hl2 quality anyway...

animation looks odd too, graphics aren't bad, looks a bit like medal of honor: paciffic assault although not as good, ran ok so far...

need to try it a bit more...:|

are there lush jungle levels like in the first? they concentrated more on city fighting this time, which was a bad move. jungle warfare is what made vietcong good.

I tried one level, it looks exactly the same as the first Vietcong. Performance is very meh, overall graphics are outdated. Gameplay is okay is Vietnam mode with no crosshairs and stuff.

I can't connect to any online servers, the screen just stays black.

I can create my own server though. INTERESTING.

Vietcong was awesome. When I moved to my new house I looked for it for days and couldn't find it. Still haven't found it.

played the mp demo last night...its awful

sounds are weedy, the movement feels very floaty, the blood when you shoot people looks cartoonish and the gfx look very dated

only good thing about it was you can set wire traps and the menu music is very pink floyd

Aw, give it a chance Dopplegofer. It's a lot of fun. It just has a few bugs in the demo. If you've ever played the original Vietcong, you know it's a good game. It's not awful, don't exaggerate.
