are there any vietnam mods in planning for halflife 2? ive looked buy i cant find sh*t.

Actually, I havent found any big one either (that's obviously big enough to get noted)... Or we've just missed it :)
Maybe EoD (BF1942) will move over to HL2.

just get battlefield vietnam, lets get some fresh mod ideas going rather than more based off vietnam/WW2/desert storm etc.

The will be for Half-Life 2. It is a pretty good mod from a fun point of view, although it's rough around the edges visually.

Some may think it's bad, but they aren't porting the HL version to HL2. They are starting from scratch.

this could get a bit boring for the players on the villagers side - getting bombed napalmed and summarily executed all the time; even if the graphics are amazing.

The oh so famous picture of a napalmed girl crying and running in the street is actually the victim of NVA bombing you know...
Anyway, the more mods the merrier. Vietnam isnt an all bad battlefield, I would love to see a Huey in HL2. I'm sure its gonna fly better than the one I made for EoD :)

without wanting to sound flamey, she was actually injured by south vietnamese warplanes under the jurisdiction of u.s. commanders.

I just think it's extremely distasteful to base a game on a conflict like vietnam which was principally between a world superpower and a rural civilian population. Seeing games like Viet-Cong in stores makes me feel sad.

Yeah, you are correct.

But concerning distastefull, not really... How many civilians died during WW2? My guess, more than in Vietnam. How many cities was bombed and levelled to the ground? Concentration camps? Etc etc... Then think on how many Vietnam VS WW2 games there are.

I know what you're saying Dawdler - but a war is where you have 2 armies fighting each other. ;)
