Viewing Official HL2 Maps in Hammer?

Please forgive me if this is a stupid question, but how do you go about opening the levels that came with HL2 in Hammer?

I'm only just learning how to use Hammer - in fact this is the first time that I've ever attempted to design content for a game other than the Unreal engine. One of the things that I found incredibly useful when learning my way around UnealED was to open the maps that shipped with the game and study the way they were made - this also helped with things like general scale and understanding layouts better.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

I dont think you can open any of the levels in hammer unless you have the map VMF files which arent released with the game.

Yeah, that's one of the things I like much better about Unreal mapping. The tradeoff is that you can see your brush placement and movement immediately without rebuilding.
