About 5 minutes ago, I was browsing Fileplanet and Gamespy, and this box appeared (image attached at bottom of page)

Then I followed the link to this page, and read up on it. Now I'm confused, how do I fix this? That page just describes an exploit, and makes it look like patches have been distributed to fix the problem, but I don't see any security updates in the Windows Update available files that I don't have. Can somebody help me :(?

from that site
REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS: "Because this is an exploit only, there are no removal instructions, since there is nothing to remove. This is a detection for the exploit, preventing the execution of malicious content on your computer. By detecting the exploit, it is prevented from running."

therefore its not a virus, your software merely informed you that the site was trying to use the exploit on your system, and it was stopped.

I missed that last part :) Thanks for clearing that up, I was thrown off by Norton telling me it couldn't fix it (so I figured it didn't stop it, and that the exploit was being used.)

By the way, did you order those metal slides for your 23's :D?

EDIT (among others :P): Mods, feel free to delete this topic, as it is no longer needed.

EDIT 2: Gah, so many mistakes!

I know how to fix it

Pour water on you're computer.

I would hate to see what would happen if you were to get a virus :P

np bro :)
as for the slides, no not yet, my best friend (who I airsoft with, and the reason Im heavily into airsoft as well) has suffered a back injury... bad, he has been in pain for about 2 weeks now.. poor guy :(

so havent even thought about the slides.... Im just hoping he gets better.
if he doesnt play airsoft, its likely I wont.... I wouldnt do that to him.
(we are both uber gun nuts, and if he isnt able to play I wont)

Set up an indoor target trap for the guy. :) It isn't hard to do, and it'd amuse him for a bit... until you have to go reload for him, anyways. :D

Sorry to hear that. Good luck to him, hopefully he will be in good health again soon :)

actually we went to the gunshow here in CA last weekend and he bought himself an AR-15 (well the FAB-10, legal for california)
we pick it up in 8 days, then we will be target shooting with the real rifle until his back heals.

thank you Im sure he would appreciate the sentiment, I shall pass it along ;)

Good to hear that. The AR15 (or variant) is a really pleasant rifle to fire.
