Virus

I was just wonding if anybody can remeber that virus that was about around a month agow. It caused a propmt when every you connected to the internet, telling of an error and saying the computer was going to shut down in 90 seconds. I think my parents have the virus on their computer and i was wondering if anybody can remember how to remove the damn thing

Any help will go down great!

I had it but like a year ago, It really pissed me off, I had to clan my HD to remove the little bugger.

It's easy to deal with, just download the service packs

i think i had that, trouble is i had to download the patch in super-quick time before it shut down.

the first time i EVER used my brand new NTL connection i got it. just my luck. AND i had my firewall on, which i havent put on scince (stops all my games playing online) and i havent had a virus apart from that. i dont care if i get a virus as i am meaning to reformat soon anyway...

Aah yup I had this virus. One trick, when the shutdown thingo comes up, go to command prompt (Start->Run-> type cmd and press enter) and type shutdown -1

Now your computer wont shut down I've had two virus's that did this to me, msblaster and the sasser virus, so you're best to figure out which one it is first.

start, run,

shutdown -a

to abort the shutdown

I hated fukkin sasser sooo much, once it infected my network it took ages to completely get rid of it. That was before the sasser remover tool of course. That was a nasty bugger though, kepts shutting down my pc's.

a few brand new computers at my mom's office got it within an hour or so from setting them up
