on XP I couldn't go over 2.7Ghz on my AMD9950
now that I installed Vista it's running flawlessly on 2.9Ghz
not to mention my new gtx260 thats was running at 620Mhz and now at now at 730Mhz thanks to Rivatuner!:bounce:

OC-ing is usually hardware/BIOS settings, I don't think it makes any difference on which OS you are using to be OC-ed stable.

I don't know what I just said, but my point is: OS does not play any role on OC-ing.

Good Luck.

vista may just be reading it differently.. if your trying to overclock your cpu via windows GUI application.. dont do that.. i hear its nothing but bad news.

100% agreed:
Do Not do any hardware setting through OS: Most of the time, it is a bad idea.
Also you won't have BIOS protection: Like when you over-volt components, and do other "No! No!" stuff, and BIOS won't post as result? Yeah, that's gone.

Good Luck.
