This just started happening, and continues to happen even after reboots. I am unable to go into control panel, My Computer properties, and the personalize menu. I click them and it just does nothing. I thought it may of been due to my copy of vista being unregistered, but I cant get to the screen to register it in the first place.

any ideas?

Does it work in safe mode? I haven't seen anything like this before. I don't think it has anything to do with an unregistered copy, as your problems are not what fake copies of Vista limit. Could be malware, or a number of other things. If nothing else works try a system from the start menu.

Probably has to do with the stupid admin rights bull crap. I hate that so much, something must have gone wrong in that somewhere, I wouldnt be surprised. That such a weird problem though, I cant think of anything. :(

Try repairing your OS. Boot from the Vista DVD and select repair. It's right away when it asks you if you want an upgrade or a clean install. I've never done a repair with Vista, but should work just like XP. Although it shouldn't mess with your data files (documents, pictures, or whatever), I would back up before you try it.

The "stupid admin rights bull crap" wouldn't stop you from opening those menus, only changing certain things inside them.
