The "Wow" starts on the week of July 16th! :P So what can we expect from one of many patches Microsoft will send out?
  1. A revised desktop search.
  2. Even faster file copying/shutdown speeds.
  3. Support for SD Advanced Direct Memory Access.
  4. Enhancements to BitLocker Drive Encryption.
  5. Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI) support on x64 machines.
  6. A faster Windows ReadyBoost.
No doubt other changes as well. http://www.dailytech.com/Microsoft+Readying+Vista+SP1+Beta+for+midJuly/article7965.htm *Oh yeah it's a beta too. That sucks...

It's good to hear MS mention Vista SP1 even if it is beta.
"According to ZDNET's Mary Jo Foley, SP1 will RTM in November after just four months of testing."

wooo beta
hopefully the final comes out in august because thats when im joining the vista group

If those are the top 6 I am not impressed. I want more device and app support.

What do you mean for MS to give more device and app support? Wouldn't that come from the companies making the device/app? :D

They have their own devices to support, but I mean they could do something for XP - Vista compatibility.

Xp and Vista have great compatibility. The only problem i've had so far is KOTOR and that's cuz of Securom.

Great for you, but not for everyone. Every day I become less and less satisfied with Vista.

Maybe you should let out what compatibility problems you are experiencing. That way, maybe world will eventually float into Microsoft so they can realize, "Hey people are having troubles with this. Lets fix it".

Nothing big, but for example my Explorer 5.0 Intellimouse software does not indicate the battery level like it used to. In XP it just stopped working and pretended it was never there. In Vista, it just doesn't exist. It's like they wrote the new drivers to lose functionality so I would be dissatisfied and buy a new mouse.

Try looking up Vista drivers for your mouse? or you could be dissatisifed and buy a new mouse. *Runs away*

I really hope this service pack resolves most peoples issues with vista. As a X64 user and potential vista user I like to think that ol Bill will come up with a good solution and soon we'll all be in DX10 nirvana. I couldn't be happier with X64 and the beta build way back when of vista gave me a good idea of whats to come. We cant overestimate Vista, its a big undertaking and should be given time (which sounds kind of hypocritical compared to the whole Games For Windows Strategy). As the redheaded step childs of Microsoft (ever since that damn 360 came out to the idiot consolites) we should stick it out and let Microsoft remember who's their real children, the guys who have been stickin it out since Windows 95! (or earlier), not those damn Xbox peeps!

Good. It makes an already OS even better. More reasons to love Vista.

I've got my saving grace: PeerGuardian 2 for Vista (including x64)

Good news.

Lol. 'Even Faster'. That would assume they were already fast to begin with.

Is it out?
not officially, but i got this sort of pre-betaish version, they say there might be some downloading problems which my friend got on his 32 bit version but mine works perfectly. Not on their site apparently, my friend gave me the link to it though.
