Noticed that today some flamehaus users said there was new performance and reliability updates for Vista! :D Does it run normal now? If so then I'm ready to go back to Vista again and play some Bioshock again lol.

I downloaded the updates, but I have to restart my comp for them to take affect. I'm to lazy to restart my comp.

Edit: I accidentally clicked on restart and installed the updates, the computer is running fast like before, so I don't see a difference.

I can't connect my gaming rig to the internet at this time, because I'm afraid of my nieces and nephew tripping over my ethernet cable :D

But I will be looking into this, I saw information on the patch at behardware.com, so it sounds intriguing, considering I do have problems with crashes to desktop

behardware said:
Microsoft offers via its Customer Support Services a new patch for Windows Vista which corrects problems related to addressing the virtual space in DirectX. According to colleagues at techPowerUp!, it will be especially destined for the GeForce 6, 7 and 8 and will remedy abnormally low performance and stability problems when selecting very advanced settings particularly in Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142, Civilization IV, Company of Heroes, Half-Life 2, Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle Earth II, Supreme Commander and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas.
So maybe here we have something to reduce the number of GPU crashes which Microsoft complains about...

If you can, checked to see if there are any improvements to frame rate whilst running x4 anti-aliasing in Oblivion, because the last time I attempted that on my 8800gts, it ran rather slow (compared to the setup with HDR instead)

This was on anandtech, it does not improve performance they said but helps reduce the amount of something. I need to go find it first. But it does help games from crashing.

They have been out for about half a month. It helps greatly but still slower than xp.
