Love the art style, and it looks much better than PDZ and Kameo, since they were Xbox ports.

EDIT-

It has some awesome looking stylistic direction..

but...... as a game I seriously doubt it will be any good.

My 4 year old nephew might get a kick out of it...

Seriously what happened to Rare? They were my favorite developer. After the N64 they just went to shit.

Rare's gotta streak of strange games coming out. I wonder what they're thinking.

LOL that looks awesome.

At first I thought you said this was a Rockstar game. I was like, "WTF?" I thought maybe all the negative things that go along with their violent games got to them

Anyhow, Rare? so this is exclusive to 360?

Im afraid this game is probably going to be really popular.

With the right advertising this could be big like Pokemon

What like Banjo-Kazokie was some how more for adults? It's called "you grew up" - something I think you could do a little more.

But this game looks cool. How is this "gone to shit?" This looks like one of the highest quality games I've ever seen. With the massive explosion of spanish speaking citizens in America, this is definately a great idea

Dude... this game idea is kickass!

I mean... talk about ****ing original premise! Pinata animals!

Is there a "Pinata hunter" game mode? I want to splode open some pinata ass.

Looks really neat. I wonder what the gameplay's going to be like.

Sounds like it'll be sort of like Pikmin, which is awesome.

How about a PC version? It looks interesting. Especially if those animal things can kill people.

Well Banjo Kazooie was a great game, so was Goldeneye, so was Perfect Dark, Conker and Starfox. But then they switched to Microsoft and we "Grabbed by the Ghoulies" (wtf???), a remake of Conker (Great game still) and Perfect Dark Zero (which couldn't hold a candle to the original).

Sure Kameo was good, but they were of course better off with Nintendo.

wow - that looks great. Visually it's a little similar to smw2, but instead of being drawn in crayons this looks like it's been made out of plastersine (sp?) and painted. It also looks a little bit like material, sewn together. I'm a sucker for visually stricking and original looking games - Viewtiful Joe, Ico, Killer 7 etc all float my boat. Hopefully the gameplay can match the looks :)

oh, I think the 360 could be Rare's comeback. Being a HUGE fan of Rare over the snes and n64 years I was as disappointed as anyone to see them decline after joining MS. Things are starting to look better now - more games are being produced and some of the old charm is coming back. Kameo isn't isn't as great as their advneture games on the snes/N64, but there are some flashes of genius, and it's good solid fun. PDZ may not have been a patch on the original, but what is these days? It still offers 100's of fun in co-op.

I shall remain optimistic about Viva Piñata.

I have one question only...Will you be able to bust those open!? otherwise there's no fun in this game...I wnna crack those pinatas open and eat their guts...

Ewww! You sick bastard! My brother is a pinata, and I can't remember the amount of times he's had kids try to bust him open with a baseball bat! You disgust me!

Rare went downhill as soon as they lost the Bond franchise. Funnily enough the Bond franchise went downhill when Rare lost it.

That's craziness. I just hope it's not another Grabbed by the Ghoulies

Also, didn't a bunch of programmers leave Rare to work on the Timesplitters games?

They went downhill after making Perfect dark[which is much better than Goldeneye]. Kameo and the xbox Conker were fun, PDZ too, but it doesn't hold a candle to the awsomeness of N64 Rare.

Hey you probably know this, but just in case. There is a game called Okami comming to the ps2, it's made by the people who made vieftiful joe. Visually it's stunning, probably gonna be one of the most original and stunning games on the ps2. http://ps2.ign.com/objects/678/678618.html

yeh - i've been watching Okami for a while, it looks sweet :)

It's because they left Nintendo.

YUO DONT LEAVE NINTENDO WITHOUT PERMISHENS!!

Does actually look interesting though.

Nobody double-crosses Nintendo.
Except perhaps Squaresoft. Sure they went crawling back in the end, but Nintendo practically jumped and humped them when the GC failed to have much of an impact.

I was under the impression Nintendo sold Rare, and Microsoft thought it'd be a good idea to get them to develop for them.

Banjo-Kazooie was a damn good game, even now it holds up better than their current stuff. They haven't made anything of substantial quality recently. Kameo was an ok platformer, and Perfect Dark 0 was a decent game, but also the most disappointing game ever made. Seriously the original is such a classic, for the sequel to be just a "good game" is ridiculous.

And they went downhill immediately after Conker was released. They made nothing worthwhile on the Gamecube or X-BOX, and now just above average games for the 360. This coming from one of the best development teams in the industry. Yeah, they went to shit, and thats putting it nicely.

If you ask me Free Radical is the closest thing left to what Rare used to be. Second Sight was a good and innovative game, and the Timesplitters series is the closest we'll ever get to continuing the Goldeneye/Perfect Dark games.
