Anyone played this shooter?
It isn't a masterpiece nor anything to write home about, but still, a solid film, kind of like Kill Bill due to the amount of blood and violence.
Essentially, you are a part of a rescue team airdropped onto a tropical island to locate a previous search team. Quickly (in the first two minutes) your team along with your ex-girlfriend falls prey to cybernetic hyenas and you find yourself stranded and have to make your way across the island.
The story, while has a cliched and non-appealing start, picks up three to four levels in and isn't bad for a shooter. However, the game seems to suffer from a split personality syndrome - the gameplay is DEFINITELY not something fitting for an adaptation of the "Island of Dr Moreau", as it's a really basic shooter, without such rudimentary elements as magazine reloading.
The art direction varies from pretty good to awesome. While the main character looks like a soldier outfitted in a garage sale, the enemies are unique and it has some stunning visuals, like a massive two hundred meter tall bridge over a large valley, both of which you get to explore.
On the subject of enemies - bulldozer armoured rhino, armoured bear with a rocket launcher, cybernetic cougars, leopards with implanted flamethrowers, lion with mini rocket launchers in their heads, hyenas with rayguns... quite varied.
So basically, it's a good game that could've been awesome if the gameplay wasn't that of a primitive shooter.
