vmf deleted

just yesterday i loaded up hammer and my map
and the entire thing was completely gone
all brushes and entities were completely removed

the saved files still there, but the map is just a blank space

also, the bsp is still there and playable
is there any way to extract the files to a vmf from the bsp

i put so much work into it and im so pissed

now ive got a new problem...
my map wont compile

does that have something to do with that software or is my comp just f'd up

it stoppes while im running it at portal flow-somehwere around 80%-90%

You open the backup VMX file. You can also decompile the BSP and use that as a reference for recreating the entire map.

that happened to me too about a month ago. had to start all over. be SURE to backup your map often. thats what i leard from that. as for your problem at hand, dunno what you can do to get it back besides raevens suggestion.
