Well, a couple months ago.. my secondary harddrive stopped working. It really pissed me off but just recently my primary hard drive stopped working. It jiggled loose for some reason...

So I boot up my computer and go to the "My Computer" menu... and bam there it is. My sec. drive is there! I double click to try and open it and it says that it needs to be formatted. So I click okay, then it tells me windows cannot format the drive. The window then closes. I have formatted my primary drive since the secondary drive stopped working and I continued to use my computer without it.

Would this make a difference?

Also, when I had them both up and running, they both were set in a "RAID" function. Whatever that means. But I prefer them not converged as one HD so disregard that, I don't want raid again.

These are the disk models:
Both of them are Maxtor 6 Y200M0 SCSI Disk Device (What windows shows me when I ask for disk properties)

What do I do to make it work?

One probly failed and the other si gonna fail soon too....RAID setups shorten your comps life a bit (I think)

Wow I didn't think this would be such a hard question to answer, I'll take it to another hardware forum.

You said they were old, get your story straight or no one can help you

I'm sorry, but it seems you did not read it correctly. I never stated anything related to the age of my HD's. My story is straight, can you help me now?

Just in case, the HD's are about 3 months old.
