Well basically whenever I click the "Enable VOIP" box and turn up the transmit/recieve volume the moment i leave the Audio menu and return to it everything is cleared again. Even after i set it and hit apply, it says it saved but it doesnt stay. Im able to change the sound type from software to hardware and such but the VOIP stuff wont stay "checked".

And when i try to do the test mic thing, nothing happens (except me talking into the mic for what seems like no reason....then i feel dumb ;( )

So anything i should be doing here?

Do you have to hit "apply" like you do with controls?

I think so.. ive tried both ways and neither work.

And Ive been trying to use it in squads but it wont even allow me to keep the option of VOIP enabled...

EDIT: WOOT

Finally figured out what the probelm was. When i installed BF2 demo and ran through the little mic setup thingy and just clicked save setting when i didnt adjust it correctly (i was too excited to read instructions lol).

Damnit, now whenever i join a server i can use the mic for about 2 mins but then it turns back off for no reason. Any ideas?

The demo doesn't have VOIP does it? I thought it didnt at least.

The demo does have VOIP, I have been useing it all day.

Yeah, it does come with it (on servers that support it), but i can only use it for about a minute after i redo my VOIP setup configuration thing ;(

I'm having issues with VOIP myself. People were having trouble hearing me because my windows mic boost thing wasn't working. I try going into the file BF2Voicesetup, but it says...

Error: Unable to Open Key!

(then another window that says)

Could not read localization data, defaulting to english.

The program then opens, but when I try to apply changes, it gives me a blank error window.

Is there anything that tells you that your transmitting?!

Ive got it all setup and can hear me in the test mic thing, but when i press the "Push to talk" button that i set in controls nothing appears on the screen that lets me know if its working.

You have to be in a squad first, I believe. There is a little icon on the right side of the screen that comes up when its on.

For some reason when i start up the game it will work fine, then after a minute it shuts off and i cant use it until i restart the game.

My "Mic Boost Gain" is greyed out and i cannot select to turn it on... while when the mic is working for that minute or so in-game the Mic boost gain is checked .

Any ideas?
