It just looks funny to see Vortigaunts wear something when usually they are naked.

Anyway, I'm not surprised Vorts wear labcoats. Pockets are useful; where are you going to keep your pens otherwise, I ask you?

Vorts may be highly evolved* entities who can zap you with lightning bolts, but not even they could figure the art of the pocket protector. This shows the superiority of humans over vortigaunts.
