Yesterday a news post was made on the SteamPowered website regarding The 2004 SpikeTV Video Game Awards in which Half-Life 2 has been nominated in five categories:
The nominees for The 2004 SpikeTV Video Game Awards have been announced and Half-Life 2 has been nominated in these 5 categories:[br]

The 2nd Annual Awards Take Place LIVE Tuesday, December 14th in Los Angeles hosted by Snoop Dogg and featured musical Performances Include SUM 41, Ludacris and first ever live performances By Snoop Dogg and The Doors.

If you've been as impressed with Half-Life 2 as we have, go ahead and vote for the game by clicking here. Even though it might not seem like Half-Life 2 will need the votes, the game still needs your vote to ensure it's as successful as the original.
 
I will be willing to bet money that Halo 2 will beat Hl2 at everything :frown:
 
I can't find where to vote :( but generally the site doesn't work pretty well for me.

oh of course. That and Doom 3...they're more mainstream. I honestly haven't heard more then two people at my school speak about half-life 2 since it came out...but when Halo 2 and Doom 3 came out...holy crap, I got sick of hearing about it...I'm STILL hearing about them constantly.
 
what about if we want to vote for anothers?

Game of the year: well Half-life2 deserve it even if I didnt played yet but it was in development for 6 years and all that stuff,maybr GTA:SA will be another choice also I didnt played too much just few hours,Halo2 maybe not, is very good but not soo amazing but still deserve a prize

Best Fisrt Person Action Game: sure Half-life2 deseve this,but will hav strong competence whit Halo2 but still I dont know

Best PC game: I didnt hav played soo much PC games but I think some competence will be whit the Sims 2 cuz lthe first one was a success, so still not sure

best graphics:if Half-life2 dont win this everybody who not voted for it is a idiot,but Doom3 will be a huge competence,Halo2 I dont think soo but hav nice graphics

best new technology:definitve Half-life2 (or source?) cuz I dont think the others engines hav so much features like the source
 
If HL2 does'nt get GOTY GTA:SA will.(1st or 2nd)
No way will HL2 get best graphics...it might look more realistic but they still are'nt as good as Doom3's...even FarCry's i think surpass them.(3rd)
I don't think it will win technology either...the nintendo DS and the 6800 cards are something special.(2nd or 3rd)
Its already won best FPS.(1st)
Its already won best PC game.(1st)

I'm just wondering why WoW isn't among the best MMO game and most addictive game and even best PC and GOTY.
 
LOL, Halo 2 is nominated for best graphics? They didn't even improve much compared to Halo 1. I can understand Doom 3 but Halo 2 has nothing spectacular to show.

you should click on where the circle is. Maybe you noticed that the thing where you should click on is text, it says Vote now, but I can hardly read that crap hiphop style text too.
 
I agree halo 2's graphics didnt improve that much from halo 1.

and another thing im worried about is that,less people are able to play halflife 2 due to lack of required hardware. I think alot more people own xbox. That is more voters for halo 2. It's Unfortunate, but that seems the way its gonna be.

well i've done my bit for king and country :D voted for HL2 in GOTY, best FPS and best tech.
 
you can vote more than once! just in the upper right hand corner, click half life 2 in "other nominees" again and you can vote for it infinite times

if everyone votes at least 20 times for half life 2 in every catagory it should kick ass in the awards show
 
Gave HL2 everything it was nominated for :)

Halo2 just used a bunch of little tricks, but it is still amazing that the xbox could handle it.

I think Halo2 does look pretty cool, sure not totally revolutionary, but definetely better than a lot of things.
 
Yeah i also voted HL2 across the board, finished the other votes too, just not the handheld bullshit.

Gave Shacknews the best gaming site.
 
Half-Life 2 got all my votes in all the categories nominated. It deserves it IMO. Halo 2 ? Meh .. Doom 3? Meh ..
 
That website sucks. All I get is the attached image. When I click on this image it gets some audio playing and scrolling window but where the hell do I click on the flash shit to vote?
 
**** the video game awards. Those things are so anti-gamer it makes me sick. Such an over-blown hype fest sideshow that is so far removed from gameing culture its rediculous. I tried watching the first one for all of 10 minutes...It was so over the top flashy and trendy it made MTV look like PBS. Its so sad that these assholes were the first people to realy capitolize off gaming in the mainstream media.

Can anybody confirm this? I know a lot of times voting sites will only accept the first vote from a given IP address and then block the rest, even though you still have the option to contine voting.

I've been sitting here clicking the thing for hours while i'm watching tv. Hopefully they're all counted. I agree that the whole video games award thing is really hyped and ridiculous in general, but I just can't let Halo 2 win, because it really doesn't deserve it... so i'll just sit here and vote.
 
in my person after completing bot GTA SA and halo 2 and half-life 2, half-life 2 is the best. but mabye i'me saying that 'cause I have x800 PRO. people say graphics dont mean anything when it comes to best game of the year. it does. if hl1 came out now it wouldent recieve 97% and that goes for playstation 2 games. Half-life 2 is the best game of the year, no question

To be honest, why dont they have a section devoted to board games? or card games? afterall, it is gaming....
 
I would vote for it for its game play. I would not vote for it for the fact that I have heard that alot of people that legaly bought the game are/have had trouble getting it to install. I do not endorse the trading of private, personal information (such as EMails) or the storage of CD Keys on a central server, due to the fact that if someone has enough determination, and they hack that central server, than nobody will be able to play the game.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Since the last feeks I'm getting into that music too, since I've listened to some TTF (Tunnel Trance Force) cd's. But I've listened for such a long time to artists like Brooklyn Bounce and Scooter that they don't get away from the top 50 soon. I can delete them but I don't do that because it's the music I've listened too. And it's still good to listen to some commercial trance sometimes.

Oh this is still about the Video Game Awards right? Does anyone know what games have won?

I think if you do that, all votes from your IP will be blocked and all of the votes you sent will be just ignored.
 
Halo 2, Doom 3, and GTA:SA will win no doubt, and I bet they will bring Samuel Jackson on to do some dialogue from the game and they will even have a big stupid speech that he says. I hate these stupid award shows, they are all mainstream POS.
