I just found out I got the internship that I was hoping for. The only downside is its not paid, but this internship gets me closer to the job I am targeting.

It's at the IRS.

Most people think I'm crazy, but the IRS is one of the very few accounting jobs that don't make you work 65+ hours a week during crunch times (which lasts a quarter of the year). I value my time more than having the opportunity to earn a couple of thousand extra bucks a year (with a job in private industry). Hopefully since I have an internship with them, I can get a job with them much easier. I'm so happy right now.

Sometime in January. I even earn 3 credit hours for it as well.

I thought I bombed the interview, and thought I wasn't going to get the internship. Guess I was wrong.

If I wasn't colorblind, I would be applying to be a special agent in the FBI. No kidding. The FBI heavily recruits accounting majors.

Accounting is interesting because the stuff you can do. If you are creative enough, you can have a tax law named after you. If you are creative enough, you can capture a notorious criminal (Al Capone) for tax evasion. The accounting you are thinking of is usually done by bookkeepers, people who don't have a 4 year degree in accounting.

I just found out that I am issued a white plastic stormtrooper suit and a blaster. jk

I know someone who used to work at the IRS and your right, they don't get crunched with work during that time of the year. Always a good thing.
