Wacken 2006

I was wondering out of all the metal heads on here who where going WACKEN 2006!! I just booked me plain tickets £120 quid for 2 returns. Just got to save up another cople of weeks to get the festival tickets.

If you are going what bands you most looking foward to? For me:
Opeth
Children of Bodom
Nevermore... well to be honest there are about 15 bands that i frigging love, this is gunna be the best wacken yet!!

I was going to go, but I was intent that alot more thrash metal would be announced. Hell, I was determind that Sodom would be announced, but their touring USA I think so thats them out. Doesn't seem like alot of time for them to announce any of the thrash bands that I like as their all pretty big bands.

Next year, perhaps. Bloodstock for me this year.

There is nothing on at all this year at bloodstock, and the only decent bad last year was bodom at the open air one. I dont listen to to much thrash but there is generaly alot at wacken. Have you seen the latest line up?

Bloodstock has Atheist this year. Enough said.

Yeah, I've seen the line up, and I don't really like it. Theres barely any thrash there at all - Motorhead and Nevermore are probably the closest I'd get. Then again, theres a few bands I've not heard so whatever.

Even so, though, Bloodstock is fun as it it regardless of the bands. The weekend in general is kickass and I'll be going along for that mainly.

Emperor are doing some kind of reunion gig is it? That's the only thing I'd be too bothered about missing. I don't really care about the rest of those bands.

A few years back I would have killed to get to Wacken, but I've had my faith in live metal damaged by a lot of shit gigs. However, I went to see Revenge recently out of curiosity and they were awesome. That really speaks volumes about many other bands' live sets, when a band who goes out of their way to create the filthiest most tuneless music possible appears to have their act together far more than anyone else.

Wow. That is enough to justify the expense of the whole weekend. Bringing your camcorder are you? PLEASE DO and I will pay you for the tape! :E

I dunno, the previous Wackens have had some stunning bandlists, but this year seems a little lacklustre. There's still time though, I guess - I'd go for Amon Amarth, Finntroll and Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, but those three alone just aren't selling the ticket for me.

OHHH!!! Just packed my bag and heading for london. Gunna spend night at my parents and then off to stansted airport for my 6am flight, its not gunna be much of a night. Aparnly i got spag bowl for dinner tho! My last chance of some proper food for a week

Any ways, Band list looks ****ing awsome now I cant wait! Opeth here we come.
