...namely that whenever I plug it in, it goes on, then goes off, and I can't use it. Sometimes I get a little 'your hardware has malfunctioned/not been recognised' box, mostly it just does the 'hardware in' tone, then the 'hardware out' tone. Grr. Anyone know what's going on and how I can fix it?

EDIT: I can get it to work by jiggling it around a bit and pulling on the wire, which makes me think that it's something wrong with the wire itself (is it fiber-optic?).

I get a similar problem with my Wacom. Although it doesn't even get recognised as hardware on my preferred computer, but it works perfect on my other comp.

Have you tried pluggin' it into different ports to see if it's the port and not the cable?

Yes. In fact I can get it to work, but it requires a lot of jiggling around and not moving it at all. Maybe it's the fibre-optic cable isn't letting light down it unless it's relatively straight. That sounds silly to me though.

Sounds like a problem with the wire. Happened to my Wacom after my mum decided to unplug it, wrap the wire tightly around it, and put it in a drawer.. I could get it to work a little by jiggling the wire, but soon I couldn't even do that. Mine's completely dead :(

Hah, well wonderful. That's exactly what's happening to me. So why isn't it common knowledge that these ****ing expensive tablets **** up after about a year?

I don't know... mine worked fine until then. If they're kept on a desk all the time I suppose they're alright. Maybe it can be fixed, I don't know.. I haven't tried :(

No that much of a problem in fact, I was extremely angry earlier but the thing has a two year warrantee and I only bought it...what? Six to eight months ago maybe? I can get a replacement if needs be.

Sorry about your own wacom, Shippi. :(

sounds like the wire inside is broken or something, like when u have old headphones. you have to jingle them about before they work
