Walking Backwards?

I was trying out the Half-Life 2 demo and for some reason I started it up one day and I backpedal, nonstop. If I'm not moving forwards then it's trying to move back and it's making it ****ing hard to play Ravenholm.
EDIT: I've already tried deleting local content and then reinstalling, an hour's worth of DLing went to waste.

Or you could reinstall the demo and verify game cache... Soon shasta will come in and accuse you of pirating the demo. ;D

i dont really understand your problem too well. when you try to go forward "W" you walk backwards?

If I am not pressing ANY KEYS on the keyboard my character begins to backpedal and will not stop. If I press W to go forwards I DO go forwards, everything works perfectly EXCEPT this problem.

Try resetting your game controls if you haven't already, and see if that works.

If the answer is YES to both above questions, try holding down S when it happens for a couple of seconds, it may wear it off.

Seriously, posts like yours piss me off sometimes. He quite clearly said he had a demo.

And to the OP: I suggest resetting game controls, but like you said, it didnt work.

It does seriously sound as if your keys are stuck. Does this happen for any other application/game? Or only for HL2? Backpedal is set to 'S' in your demo, right?

Only HL2. If it was other applications it'd be a hardware problem, I might be my KB drivers. I'll try those.

Try to set the backpedal key other than "s". If it is the "s" is being stick, the problem should not be appear.
