I just went to walmart to drop off some money for my mom $100 to send to Romania for her family(my mom has some very poor family there just trying to help them Out) and i gave the girl $120.00 . There was also a charge of $9.50 to send the money so it's a total of $109.50 that i have to pay her. I give her $120.00. I should get $10.50 back right!!! ..... Wrong!!! She gives me a little over $90.00 and some change. I tell her mam you gave me WAYYYY to much change and she says OHH THATS OK And i just stood there for a few seconds and then left. I dont know what just happend. What do i do. Is it wrong to keep the money. I told my mom and she said to go back and give the money back. :hmph:

Whats the right thing to do? I'm in no urgent need for money either.

THis is a wierd position i'm in PLEASE HELP.!!!!:(

keep the money ...this is "always do the right thing stern" telling you to keep the money ...you gave her the opportunity, she didnt seem to care and now it'll probably come out of her paycheck ..if you go back and she's not there, whomever you give it to will just pocket it

actually better yet send it to your family in romania they need it more than you, walmart, your mom and the cashier

Pfft, you told her, she shouldn't be so stupid, what do think man?

Of course its the wrong thing to do, but thing about this, who needs the money most, you or Wal-mart?

its karma man...you did something really good in the past few days and karma is making a visit to you...

but if you dont want the money just go back and try to give it back to her a few more times (few more times being if she doesnt take it the first time) if she doesnt take it i guess that you could take it to the manager and say that one of the employees over payed you

EDIT: or you could do what they said...

Thats sounds like a great idea makes me feel alot better.

If you have no need for the money send it to your mothers family in romania, add that bit extra more. You said 'you gave me too much change', she acknowledged that, but didn't rectify the mistake she has done wrong there. You may feel bad having it, but put it to good use and you have done good out a bad situation.

If she is really that thick, go back and send another $120.00....

See how much change she gives you, then just repeat the process every day.

I would!

Just find a manager and settle up. It's not beyond the scope of reality that you might be implicated in some kind of theft otherwise...

Theft? lol no, if anyone gets in trouble it would be the cashier.. the original poster would not get in trouble for this situation.

As a Wal-Mart associate myself, let me tell you not to give the money back. If the CSM's (Customer Service Managers) find out that cashier let you keep that much change, they'll fire her. Unless she wanted to be fired, which is unlikely.

i dont think you understand the transaction. you were supposed to meet her after work and satisfy her sexually.

You've mistakenly stumbled upon the Money Laundering Department of Walmart. Romania is a password for the seedy transactions that go on behind Walmart's smiling exterior

Hmmmm so keep the money .

hey make sure you update us on what you did with the money. I vote for sterns opionon on sending the money to romania

If you send it to Romania, you'll just get 70 bucks back.

hehe Stern, ur too kind :)
if i did not need the money, i'd either take it back and correct the error or as Stern said... send it to Romania because it would be useless otherwise.

Keep the money , you told her and she didnt care.
if you dont want to keep it , send it to me here in Kuwait

...send some to romania, like..half......keep the rest and buy lots of cake.

It was an "error" in your favor... Just not really an error because you told her, she failed to do anything about it, so basically its your money now.

If you really dont need it for anything important, sent it to your family :)

Yeah i'll sent it to my moms family they dont have much so i'll do that. thanks everyone.

I had a similar experience and it was pretty awkward. I was at Kinkos getting some stuff bound and set up for a project, and when it was all done, the guy just handed me the thing and said "Ok, your all set". Im like "how much is it?" I was expecting like 50 bucks for what I was doing, and in the past thats about what things like I was doing cost. But he just have me a confused look that said "???" and he just said I was all set again. I kinda just took a few slooow steps backwards to the door, and when he didnt say anything I just left, feeling wierd.

This is Walmart, the company that would rather close an entire store than let its employees be union members.

Keep the money.

I'd keep the money considering you told her straight up right away and she wouldn't take it back....

But what you mgiht want to find out is if they misunderstood and only sent a little bit of money to Romania, and the change you got back was the right amount.
