So, yeah.

If you're fond of tiny soft-shelled turtles or small fish, it's time to get angry at a new Chinese fad of having live ones inside keyrings (or keychains).

Check it:

http://edition.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/asiapcf/04/14/china.animal.keyring/?hpt=Mid

Kept in bags filled with colored, oxygenated water the animals cost around $1.50 each.

One vendor selling the animals outside of a Beijing subway station told CNN that the bag contained crystallized oxygen and nutrients.

She said that that the animals could live for days but also warned that they should be freed from the bag as soon as the air ran out or they would suffocate.
Also, they're gonna get bashed about like mad in pockets and swinging from keys. Brain Damage much?

Discuss.

I'm pretty prostate-enraged over this. Salamanders are wayyyyy too adorable to be kept in those things and shaken around to the point of death.

God damn mother****ers. Don't they realize those things are too big to be on keyrings? That shit would hardly even fit in your pocket. I mean ****, that shits too big to even be used on a lanyard.

I just love sitting in the middle of court dripping wet and having turtles clawing into my legs. Its even cooler if you carry your friends' keys too!

Your keys could have playdates!!
Didn't we already to this with Tamagotchi's, damn Chinese always trying to one up the Japanese... or something like that.

First toxic toys, now living keyrings. GG China, GG.

Well, fucjk this shit.

Eradicate them with fire or something.

Too bad we can't shun the stupid ass socialites who buy these.

well to be fair they're not intended to be in the keychain for very long

Doesn't this violate ethical treatment of animals or something? Or are China above ethics and other silly stuff like that?

How long the hell do they live? What the hell?

Well then go get a ****ing fannypack you bastard, small pockets is no reason not to have class

Seriously, at no point in the history of human kind did fanny packs represent one having class or any semblance of a fashion sense.

I'm pretty sure they're meant to be functional, not fashionable.

We should shun people who give pets up at animal shelters and eat meat, too.

In fact, that time you decided to keep a bug in a jar 'cause it looked cool is all the evidence I need to exile you from our perfect society.

BURN THE HEATHENS

No. Shut up. Eating meat is not comparable to having show animals in plastic sacks.

But meat's wrapped in plastic at the supermarket.

If I put your dead uncle in a plastic sack, is it okay because he's dead?

Fanny packs may just be the most amazingly unfashionable thing in the world. Bar none.

What! They're hip. Or at least theyre worn on the hips. Whatever you sickos like suffocating small animals near your crotch, you have no high ground
