All,

I am offering my services as a Classically-trained composer to any modding project that requires it.

I am currently studying Music and university in my second year, covering composition, harmony and aural techniques, and performance techniques. I am looking for the chance to work on some music for a mod covering title/theme music, chapter music, and through the use of a tracker dynamic environment music if possible.

I have access to Sibelius, Cubase, and Reason and am proficient in the first and getting to grips with the last.

My ultimate goal is to compose for film/games professionally, but of course I will be completing my degree over the next two years. My commitment to a project whose members are already committed however can be guaranteed. Ideally though, I do not want to start writing music for one band of modders who begin enthusiastically, lose heart and then go under.

Stylistic influences on the Classical front include: John Williams, Beethoven, Prokofiev, Bach, Brahms, Mendelssohn, and Mozart with a few others thrown in for good measure, including the guy(s) behind EVE Online's soundtrack. I can compose in jazz also (that is my main performance focus), and am largely using Reason for its leanings towards electronic music (including electro, drum and bass, techno, dance etc.). Compositionally, Classical music is currently my strongest ability and I have produced more than eight complete works in the last two years and begun work on around ten more over the last year. I enjoy the challenge!

Please PM me if you have any need for music but serious people only, please. I am also fully open to requests for compositions for other platforms.

Can you post a link to some samples?

I don't as yet have an online source of material, but I am willing to email some samples from a few of my more recent works. Please note that this would represent only a small portion of my work however (dating from Xmas 2006), as the bulk remains on a virus-infected laptop I have not yet been able to rescue my files from.

Thanks for your interest,

Bedford

I admit it would be folly not to have any samples available for people to check out - indeed, in that case I'd be writing a post offering a skill I'd have no way of demonstrating - but as I said above, I do have samples available. They're just not on a website at present, but I will email samples to those who are interested and whose projects interest me.

Ok, I forgot about MySpace's ability to host music. Go here for some demos. I'm uploading as I type this - all four banks will be filled by this evening. Enjoy.

Cheers, and sorry for the wait.

Cheers!

I was a little daunted posting my samples, I admit. I messed up the uploads though: two more on tonight. Pass the word around if you know of anyone who needs orchestral music for a MOD.

Thanks,

Bedford

Hey Bedford. I might be the guy you are looking for. I am making a MOD at the moment and I might need your help with the starting music and ingame music. We need to consider you with the rest of the team before I PM you about this job.

Cheers

I like that =D Oh and who the hell is that 'Tom' guy on your list? He just appeared on mine as soon as I signed up?

Cheers guys. I've just signed up to do some music on a mod for Medieval 2 though I'm afraid, and what with uni I think I'd be too stretched to give your mod my full attention. Sorry; if I didn't have uni I'd be up for it.

BUT, if you still need someone during summer get in touch - I'll PM you my email addy - and we'll see what we can do.

Xendance - the Tom guy is the guy who created myspace, or so I'm told.
