i was origonally going to make a thread anout stories for games- but i got carried away and wrote a lot about warcaft 3. so heres the story. i really CARNT BE BOTHERED to do antyhing else (i was origonally gonna say why it was good, and why the expansion pack was crap) so now i will just post what i wrote.

Warcraft 3

Warcraft 3 started with a single crow, flying into a castle. The crow metamorphosozes into a stunning propht, who hastily warns the residing king of a great evil. Humand, being stubborn as they are, want to make their own future... so the king discards the prophet and carries on with his tasks. The prophet is angered, but must find a new race to bear the burden of the world...

and so the first campaign is the Orc one, but it is only a tutorial. The prophet comes to a tribe leader, thrall, and asks him to save the world. To do this thrall must travel to the forgotten lands of kalimdor... which is no easy task. After capturing some ships, thrall begins on his long and perilous jeourney...

And then the human campaign starts. Arthus, the prince of lorderon, starts the campaign as a sweet, fair and noble prince. he is wise, kind and true to his kingdom. He starts by traveling through the lands to banish an evil undead that creeping over lorderon. Not soon after he starts his quest, he realises that there is an evil deamon plotting... But arthus is not powerful enough and the deamon destroys most of his home.

So arthus travels to northerland, a far off continent at the top of the world. After teaming up with some dwarves, he leads mercinaries to their doom and lies to his men in order to get his revenge. But in doing so he was giving up all that he loved in order to kill what he hated... But after his camp is surrounded and the end is nigh, he discovers a small ray of light... an evil sword that holds much power near his location. So arthus retrives the sword, but is enslaved by it... and kills the deamon. but.. at what cost?

Arthus returns home, and returns to his king. he kneels before his father, but as the sword he weilds speaks to him, twisting his mind... he takes his father by the neck, and slays him, sucessing his reign.Next campaign: Undead. but whats this... we start playing as arthus? the prince is now completely enslaved by the evil sword, and is now leading the very thing he was trying to destroy... undead. It turns out that the sword was that of the lich kings, an evil undead deamon living in northerlands. But was it the sword that made arthus a betrayer... or was it arthus himself?

Anyway, the campaign ends with arthus releasing an evil deamon into the world, who is hell benmt on destroying everything. This is when we realise... THIS is the thing the prophet spoke of at the beginning of the game... this is the end of the world... and we realise this when we see the deamon decimate a city using only magic and sand.

Meanwhile, Thrall and his orc horde have reached their destination. After reaching the strange continent of kalimdor, Thrall and his orcs meet up with some tauren ( a strange bull- like race) and travel through the barren plains. But soon they realise they are not alone, as a small band of humans has followed them and are attempting to destroy the horde.

But a more dangerous enemy has been discovered... thralls brother, Hellscream, has been enslaved by deamons... and so a battle begins between orcs and the new enemies. But little does thrall know that they are fighting what brought them into the world... as many, many years ago the orcs were transported from another dimension as slaves for the deamons, using horrific, decimating dimensional portals that while transporting the orcs also destroyed their origonal home in the process. But thrall and hellscream break their deamon binds, and slay one of the greatest deamons in exestance, causing them- and their race- to be free.

And so is the dawn of the final campaign. The night elves are a reluctant and hidden race who hide in their forest at the north of kalimdor, and stealthily assasinate any who enter their forest. But the deamons who bring the end of the world are intent on destroying the night elves home... which is the cradle of all life, a huge tree which keeps the world in balance. if it is to be destroyed, all life will end...

and so the prophet appears once more. He binds the three races together- the humans that followed the orcs, thrall and his bretheren and the reluctant night elves- into a small resistance to defend all life from the evil deamons. And after a gruelling and involving battle in which most of the resistance is destroyed, a trap is set up by the night elves which uses nature herself against the oppressing deamons. the trap works, but it destroys much of the forest in the process.

So the prophet returns to the heavens, knowing his work is done. He acknowledges that the future of the world lies in mortal hands, and not the guardians' (who we presume are some sort of god).

i decided to a poll to see whether anyone read this. man, dont you love it when i go into writing mode :D

I read it, but it doesn't really seem to accomplish anything -- just a summary of WC3's story.

yep! thats the reason i didnt make a story post out of it. i was origonally gonna say something worthwhile, and get people to write similar stories. but after the first sentance i lost intrest and just quickly outlined the story... then i realised that i couldnt be bothered to do anymore, and i dint want to waste what i had written... os i just made a crappy thread...

oh well, at least i spend my half an hour without resorting to playing CS or anyhting.

in fact, the more i think about it the more pointless thsi thread seems.

ok,so ill make this thread worthwhile...

here is why frozen throne has a crap ending.

basically, after three campaigns that dont really accomplish anything, there is a final demo clip. arthus, who we were playing as in the third campaign, finally reaches his master (the lich king) in the icy northerland. while he is walking up the slope, we hear all the voices of the humans he betrayed.. saying things like "you traitor" and "how could you do this?" etc.

he reaches the frozen armour of his master (the lich king is just a suit of armour ina block of ice.. some king!!) and the king says "return the sword and complete the circle!!"

now, what should have happened IMO, is that arthus (having heard all the voices and realised that he has gone completely mad) regains some of his free will. he is discusted with himself, and send the armour plummeting toi the water below. he then slays himself, therefore showing that there is allways hope. it also renders no solution to the story, which in itself is kind of cool.

bit no. he takes the armour helm and puts it on, then sits in the "throne". then it zooms out and we presume he sits there forever. wow. i played 20-30 hours of campaigns for this...

by the way, all of the major demo clips are in ****ing good quality, and they look BETTER than the multi million budget film "final fantasy-the spirits within". seriously.

arr im bored.. sorry for the crap speeling, bad grammer and shittilly described text but i must get off the PC now and dont have much time :)

if it had ended like that, it would have been acused of being too much like star wars, and being too 'mainstream' ie. having a satisfying ending.

i thought the ending was good enough and did it justice, although yeah i agree they could've made it mean more to you.

I know the warcraft 3 history so why I will read it

I read it but voted that I didn't har har har.

dammit! youre cheating the system!

and i cba to think of a good ending for FT, i just knowq that the one i saw was increadible crap when compared to the specularity of their demo clips in warcraft 3.

Hmph...as of right now, I am the only one who voted :
'dammit, thast long. i am NOT reading that.'
