No, it just means you need to setup the correct speed of your processor and overclock the front side bus speed, which isn't guarenteed to reach the memory's top speed of 533mhz.

i see,i need to oc my processor or my memory, sry im confused by what you said ;(

The quoted frequency of RAM is the maximum it is rated to run at. However, it will only run at at the speed the motherboard fsb (Front side bus) is set to run it at. Look in the manual for your motherboard and it will give you instructions on setting fsb speeds either through jumpers, or through the bios.

interesting so you basically mean overclock it?

No, not exactly. As I said above, everything has a set speed it is rated to run at maximum. Overclocking is when you take the equipment past its defined max rating.

In your case it is simply setting the configuration correctly.

i see so my comp wont go on fire if i increase it,is it hard to increase it?

Not if you keep everything within the ratings it was sold as having. Like I say, you will need to read the manual for your motherboard to find out how to do it, but it shouldn't be difficult.

ok thank you kind sir :D,dunno if i got a mobo manual,my comp is prebuilt(a dell)

If you can't find your manual/don't have one, download, install and run belarc advisor which will produce a web page with all your system specs, including your motherboard (Look for "Main Circuit Board"). Once you have that, search copy paste the board name into google, add the work "manual" and hit search :)

ok i have a general manual on installing parts, problems, removing etc but i'll check out that link

On Prebuilts, you are unable to access the bios to change the speed of your ram, cpu, etc.. Companies create their own bios which disables the overclocking of their product.

ok so theres no way to change my ram frequency even to its maximum frequency(ie not overclocking it)

You have to go into the Bios, which i think is impossible with a Dell system.

to get to the bios you press f2 with dell but it says 'the fields are not changeable' for memory, processor etc
