Gabe said that there's an easter egg (an inside joke) in the E3 video.
Of course there's lots of speculation and some people have good possibilites over at HL2Central.net forums. But Gabe's never said any "You Got Me There" sort on these speculations.

I still say it was all the speed signs saying 30.. 30th September, the supposed release date at the time (but when it was added as the egg nobody knew that would be the date for sure) hence the easter egg, anyone who guessed it would work out the release date, and thats why he wont talk about it now, cause obviously its an out of date easter egg with a release date that never happened, so easier for him to pretend he didn't suggest it

thats my view on it anyway, but it'll probably be something obscure like Barney in a combine uniform or the clothes the others in the barricade vid are wearing hinting at the storyline (someone else suggested Barney's uniform, and the other clothes are all visible in the vids)
