Basically, someone in my office at work wants to watch Sky Digital TV on her PC monitor instead of a tv. She wants to have it setup so that she can use her computer with teh monitor, then turn off her pc and use the monitor as a tv instead. It is important that the pc can be turned off and still be able to watch the tv through the monitor, so I think it would need to be some sort of direct connection from the sky box to the monitor.

For those who don't know what sky digital is, its basically satellite tv that comes into your house through a satellite, and into a reciever box that you can plug into a tv (or a monitor??)

The sky box has a s-video out port on the back, and also a scart socket too. The monitor has a VGA, DVI-D and a USB port, not sure if the usb port will be much help, but I thought I should mention it anyway.

Really just wondered if anyone knows anything about this and can recommend methods for achieving this and any hardware that will be required.

Thanks in advance.

... something like THIS?

EDIT: From what I can gather, you hook that and the PC to the monitor at the same time... and you don't have to switch any hardware/cables around to view either signal. It also seems that you can use it to display the video feed on the same screen as the PC feed for a picture in picture effect without using a TV tuner card.

That looks pretty good, need to find something similar thats sold on a UK webpage. Sorry should have mentioned that I'm in the UK. Thanks for the link, I will read up on it and see if something like that would be whats needed.
