Thinking about getting a water pick.

I'm wondering though, does it shoot the water at low pressure, only for clearing food, or will the pressure be high enough to scrape plaque off of my gumline?

Will I be able to clear plaque off the surface of my teeth (imagine the kind of plaque you'd use a metal pick for)?

No, they are really weak, I don't even know what they are used for, they barely work good enough to get food out, your better off just brushing and flossing.

I bought one when I had braces. The thing sucks. It shoots water everywhere, takes forever to set up and does a bad job. Get one of those... pipe cleaner-like tools. Wonderful for braces.

That was why I wanted to get one. The bristles on the pipe cleaner esque thing I have have pretty much been destroyed, so I was looking for a more renewable alternative.

Thanks for the heads up :)

Brush with a NORMAL toothbrush, and floss with one one these:

You don't need anything other then a toothbrush and that.

i use it on my bum like a bidet

I thought this would be a novel way of playing the guitar.

Yeah, those take forever to set up and use and are completely not worth it. Mouthwash alone is probably 100 times more effective.

The bristle brushes are probably your best bet but I also used those little plastic disposable floss things.

Enjoy braces...
