On the first chapter of game when u exit train station i saw this on one of the buildings. Anyone know what it means caus ei remember BALTIC sea is in the world somewhere.
Is the game based near the Baltic sea?



Also in the second pic what is the monster picture and why is there a human head sketch?

City 17 is supposedly located near the Baltic Sea, which is in Northern Europe, surrounded by Scandinavia and some other countries, like Russia

That human head sketch is one of the three pictures used in a combine "fresco" or something, where you see a short version of human evolution, developing from ape to combine. I think they're painted by the combine soldiers to show the path that mankind should take. I don't know exactly where in the game you can see the painting. This has been speculated before

I think you can find the drawing somewhere along the coastline. There's a part with a blue force field that can be disabled by letting the combine APC fall into the sea. In the vicinity there's a generator (or something liked that) surrounded by a fence that is broken. You can find the drawing on the backside of one of those generators.

Why could the game not be in the Baltic? Unless someone says something to the contrary - its as likely as anywhere else. Certainly the first HL2 seemed to be in the USA, but where all this is happening now, who knows?

Although, with the greatest respect to my Lithuanian friend, comparing your home town to City 17 perhaps is not the best tourist endorsement.
