ways to get passed blocks....

thought this would be nice thread... for myself. Im in school right now and i cant go to any good sites because they are all blocked. This is THE only site that i can get to that is on my daily routine, anyway help me out please. Im sure others run into the same thing everyday too. what do you guys use to get passed blocks?
 
miss out the www. it works sometimes.
 
search for the site on google then use googles cache to view it
 
If it's just text (hardly ever) then you could just go to google's language tools. Have it convert a website from german to english or something.
 
Get online and download firefox or some other free web browser. Then hide the folder on the C drive and delete the desktop shortcut. No blocks..no problems. :thumbs:
 
I bet he can't install anything, or play with network settings.

I did that at my school, because the students new more about networking than the teachers did, we just decided that we would be administrators.
 
It isn't really the web browser, its the internet service provider. Certain sites are often blocked (suicidegirls and stuff), and then a few keywords that are searched for (slaughter was one at my school) are also blocked. Proxies can get around a lot of them, though, I'm just not certain how to use them...

You could try the firefox thing, if they let you have a folder on a shared drive like my school, you can install things inside there. :D But I don't know if that will work.
 
Heh, you can't search for anything to do with death, Nazi's etc etc at my school.. hell, we weren't even allowed to use Google for a while..

I'm tempted to try the Firefox thing, but I don't fancy having my account suspended (which it would be if I were found out :P)
 
I meant how is he going to install Firefox, most networks stop you from installing things.
 
ff has a no install version. just unzip it and run the exe and then ff has a easy proxy enabling. just find one and in the options somewhere there is an option to run through a proxy. at my school the kids in my grade have it in a common folder that we all run ff from very useful
 
I hacked in from my home comp abnd created an admin acount. And they can't alter it, other wise the whole net (school) will go down. I love the anonymity of the internet.
 
Just run firefox off of a flash drive, I have no idea if that will work though.
 
^^ it prolly will, like I said, I just unzipped it and it worked. FF doesn't use reg keys
 
I freqently visit google image pr0n at school just for the sake of being an idiot. But seriously novell border manager is a total bitch, it blocks anything with game or video or half-life related keywords :|
 
Respect your school's wishes and don't go to sites they don't want you to.

ya its great my school uses websense and it blocks game websites but all you have to do is press continue and you bypass it. So useles
 
ha, my school says that the "technicians" can see hwat you go on all the time, and if you ever go on ought bad or downlaod anything they WILL know.

Which is total bull btw, they have yet to catch me ^^
 
its true that they can prolly see what your doing because ive had friends get caught but most of the time they have no reason to be watching you. Hopefully they have better things to do. i thought about d/ling firefox but i didnt want to d/l somthing on the schools comp...im scared of confrontation... any good proxies i can use? what exactly is a proxy while were on subject?

I played Doom 2 once on my schools computers.

They shut the computer down and locked the terminal.

Luckily it was a teachers computer.

I'm in tech support now, so I get my own computer and just use a proxy through IE6. So I can wax my carrot to all that porn now.

My school blocks any images.
I can't use Google or Yahoo or any search engine to find images and they expect us to use it for work. It's ****ing stupid.
I have tried using Google's translate tool and cache but thats also blocked under the category 'loophole'.
I will try that Firefox on flash drive idea though.

i'm sure you did . .

but yes, depending on how good their blocking system is you could bypass it by simply typing the website address in all caps though even the most basic blocking systems are passed that now ; )

of course, just use proxies. go to 1 of the many proxy sites and find 1 you like.

..i couldnt use the computers from 7th to 10th grade. I'm sure they can "see" what your doing, i mean i teach at beauvoir school in D.C. over the summers and i have remote desktop on my ibook, i can see everything, every computer (mac) does, lock it down, take it over, shut it off, whatever. Plus logs, every school ive seen you have to log in, so they have a file of every site youve visited. Hell my school right now, you have to log in to get on the computer, then log in to get on the internet, and if your idle for more than 2 minutes, you have to relogin.

aww man, the school has blocked halflife2.net :O My friend went on it this morning, it worked fine.. he tried to go an again after school and it no workie ;(

Now what am I gonna do during French? :P

Yep, halflife2.net is blocked for us too :(. I'm so gonna add a proxy to my site and get through that way... Hmm, infact, brb... :E
