Yes but you're paying for speed of access rather than hard drive space as these things are blisteringly fast!

Yeah, I don't think $300 is very different from what the other Raptor drives launched at. IDK about you but I think of slow laptop drives when I think of 2.5". Being that fast in the smaller form factor seems impressive.

This review shows the new Raptor against the previous champ (150gb) and the speedy WD 750GB drive.

I meant that in a positive way. $300 for that hard drive is incredible, considering Newegg still has 150gb 10,000 3.5" WD raptors for upwards of $175. Amazing price.

I was considering going 10krpm small capacity boot disk and then 7.2krpm large cap storage disk but at price i'll prob go 10krpm all the way round.

Why is this drive so slow in windows boot time?

I've got my eyes on one of those SE16 750gb drives, they look like they're an amazing deal. Fastest boot time, huge capacity and still pretty cheap (€120).

Yeah, they have it all around. I've got one in my PC for media files and another on the way to replace my old 74gb (1st revision) raptor for boot drive. Of course it's going to get partitioned.

The WD 750GB. (AAKS?) They are down to about $131 for the OEM one. I think I paid like $220 for one less than a year ago.

Iv bought evey raptor thus far. Got myself a 74 gig and a 150 gig X raptor.

Whats really getting me is how they got the 2.5 to be this fast and why its a 2.5
