We need a HL2 prop_phys map ^_^

I was having fun building a fortress in the hl2mp map, but it just lacks props... I'd love to see a map like that, but this time with a lot more props.. more barrels but also pellets n stuff so you can actually build your own fortresses...

all the phys items that are in that map are used in that one tiny fortress :(

Also, I don't know exactly how things work with stuff that isn't onscreen isn't being drawn or whatever, but is it a good idea to stuff all the phys stuff in a different area (aside from the arena), but in some kind of cart or moving platform or whatever so that if you'd press a button, say 10 barrels are transported into the main area?

or even better, would it be possible to spaw_n barrels with the press of a button? that would really be awesome ^_^

If noone is up for it, I might try myself (even though I never really worked with hammer), but I would still like those questions answered. :dork:

(PS, I wrote spaw_n on purpose, because it became an ad. boo!)
 
...how'd you even make an HL2 map instead of a CS: S map? I always test my maps in CS

1. edit hammer to map for HL2. search the forums. 2. make your map. 3. include at least 1 start point in your map. 4. compile and send the .bsp to the HL2/maps folder. 5. then setup a MP server (you can search for that too) :p
 
What an amazing use of textures. There's just so many.... Your map looks so bright and vibrant.

But neato on making maps in HL2 already :thumbs:

Let's say I'm making a map, I want 3 combine soldiers to spawm in this little room over here. Is that possible without the full sdk?

I hope that is a retorical question...

if not... yes of course you can! you'd have to place nodes though if you want enemies to follow you trough buildings and stuff.
