weapon showing thru wall/player walking almost thru

Hi,
Is there a simple way to not have the player putting the arms/weapons thru the walls without making a really thick wall?

probably a very stupid question for those who knows, but I appear to be on of those who don't know;)
 
I think you'll have to make those extra-thick walls of yours. As far as I know, there's no way to stop that, other than to create some sort of Tribes 2-like dynamic weapon mover code thing, where your weapon would collide with walls and move back to keep it from clipping through the world brushes. If you get what I mean.
 
Yes I understand, just wanted to be sure before I continue with my map, thanks for your reply.
 
Perhaps a playerclip textured brush just in front of the walls ? Might work. I can't be sure though.
