Well, I'm looking into building a personal website right now, so what's your choice of a good web host? It doesn't really need around 200 megs of storage space or anything fancy, just somewhere I can upload web pages/images/etc.

Thanks!

Nearlyfreespeech.net

Great service, you only have to pay for what you use.

I use it for isotown.net

Tempting, but preferably I'm looking for something free. :)

My official endorsement for real hosting goes to Godaddy (albeit that there's little if any htaccess support).

Angelfire.com was okay a long time ago. I think a lot of people use freewebs.com.

I made my site w/ sitekreator.com and they offer free hosting, too. So far I'm pleased w/ the services they offer.

google for google pages. I've heard they're ok

Tbh, it sucks. You have to choose a predefined layout, and you are so limited... Unless you want a very simple site, it's useless.

You can get around the predefined limitation by making and uploading your own HTML pages, but it's really no better than Tripod or other free hosts as far as features go.
