Are all contests going to be HL2 related now?

I really would like to have a few that aren't related because there really isn't alot to work with, with regards to HL2 that is.

I hope they're Half-Life related (not neccessarily Half-Life 2, but Half-Life universe)... This is a Half-Life 2 site after all.

why would you want to limit the contest to the halflife universe?. ok this is a halflife2 orientated website. but this forum is in the category where you can post all kinds of themes. you dont need to constrain yourself to halflife.

I keep meaning to enter one this time, but life and work is against me right now. Funny though, while looking for a background pic I clicked on a random link, only to find a photo of the area where I live. freaky.

Got a few more days anyway so I'll hopefully get around to it.

I was under the impression that more people would be entering into this contest. It seems kinda pointless to allow multiple entries now though, since it looks like it'll be you, snoggle and maybe someone else battling against each other... maybe extending the contest would be a better idea.

I got the impression the last one did so well because it got exposure on the first page. Maybe if there was a little place each week on the first page that mentioned the competition, just a thought anyway

damn those are some good pics! all of you did a great job so far. I didn't even notice the "mechanic" in the nascar image until i actually looked closely and hte strider through downtown looks REAL! AHHHH!!!

Well, my severe lack of paintshopping skills combined with 30 mins of spare time have resulted in an entry. Oh well, it's not the winning that matters I suppose

Nice one chu, good idea. I gotta think of an idea for my second one, since I blew the first one . On the monitor I was looking on when I made it, it looked good. But now that I'm home, I see what everyone means... it looks crappy .

I love the greenish lighting, makes it part of the scene.

There's a bit of a 'rough edge' at the side of his right arm under the red logo band thingy though.

Why do I have that terrible habit of being late all the time?! Ah, well. My submission for this week wasn't going to be much of a competitor anyway. I was thinking to let a zombie pose as a teacher. But I never got around to it. I thought I could finish it this morning, but it's closed already.

My vote went to acnebrain. I really liked the heat that little guy under the chopper was in.

I just wanted to point out something real quick.. I know that acne's looks pretty good, but you guys should know something before everyone continues voting.

The source photo that he used for his entry was already photoshopped by someone else, so technically he broke rule #6.

6.) Don't steal other peoples work.

This pic was passed around in an email a while back. You can read more about it at these following links:

I know maybe he could have thought it was a real pic ( it is quite convincing ), but the fact remains that half of it isn't his :-/.

The rule applies to other people's work in the photoshop competition... going by that rule as you thought it should be, any photo taken from google image search breaches it. If the author of the original photoshop complains (which I find doubtful), it will be removed.

It's still somewhat controversial, because the shark in there definitely increases the pic's effect. Oh well, I suppose it was just a smart move of his to use that pic

Ah, I didn't know it only applied to work from within the forum. And in response to what you said about google searches, I only thought this instance would be different since the original pic did not have the shark in there, but was edited in, thus someone already photoshopping part of his entry. Unless of course, you consider this newly photoshopped image to be the 'source' image then. I don't really care though, just wanted to clarify the rules..
