I've just tried to play HL2 in offline mode but received the following message:
"This game is not ready to be played in offline mode".
What the heck is going on here? I've played this game at least once per day for about 2 months, without any problems.
I've tried rebooting (several times), haven't adjusted any of the settings on my PC and haven't done anything else today other than read Email and news reports and begin to update CS: Source (but cancelled it after a few minutes as it was going to take all afternoon, according to the "time remaining" thing).
I've also received the same message when connected to the net so, any ideas? I really, really, really don't want to lose my game as I'm up to Chapter 10.

PS I've just recalled my having seen this message once or twice before but rebooting worked then.
