Weird upside down faces in HL2

I'm getting a weird glitch in HL2 and HL2: E1. Some of the faces in it just started being rendered upside down or something, and now it does this all the time. I tried defragmenting the data and verifying it, but nothing works. I was working fine just a few days ago. I can't update the drivers because this is a gateway laptop, and the it won't work with ATI's driver releases.

I'm using the current video drivers from gateway, and when I try to install the catalyst drivers, the installer just tells me that they aren't compatible with my current card.
I have a Radeon Mobility X1400, is there any way to install new drivers for them?

there should be drivers for it on the ATI site. i'm not sure if they're seperate from catalyst, i've never used a mobile card

I've tried both the regular version and the mobility version. I'm downloading the hacked omega drivers now. I let you know how they do.

yes use omegadrivers ive always had problems with catalyst on mobile cards but the omegas are great for mobile.

Well I've got a new problem now, but it has nothing to do with HL2. The new Omega drivers I'm using don't work with my laptops "Change Orientation" feature. Now I can't switch into tablet mode whenever I want.
I might have to reinstall the gateway drivers.
