Weird Video problems please help!!

Ok...So heres my problem.

Whenever I play Half Life 2/HL2 DM I get this horrible and I mean horrible gameplay glitches! The models and objects like barrels and boxes all look fine. Then the walls and certain textures seem to strech the entire screen! The pixels are everywhere and I cant see a damn thing! IT SUCKS!

So I have a friend come over the other day and she messes with some things finally she turns off the virus scan and all of a sudden the problems are gone?!?! What the hell? How could this be affecting my gameplay?

Also whats weird whenever I play Counterstrike Source I never have these problems! WTF?!?!

I downloaded F.E.A.R and the game ran fine! No weird pixels stretching the entire screen or anything! Someone please help!!

oh yeh I did....also I did for motherboards,BIOS and other things...I just dont get how she turned off the virus scan and all of a sudden the game runs 10x better..then I restart and the whole problem starts agian.

I hate to say this but....I did and rebooted and no luck...I also for the hell of it re-downloaded the latest drivers for my video card...no luck...

What latest drivers have you downloaded specifically?

And did you make sure that you properly uninstalled the old drivers first?

Try removing your drivers by using a program like 'Driver Cleaner' and reinstalling them. If this does not work maybe its advisable to roll back your drivers to older versions which will work better with your system and eliminate weird graphical problems like this. Very weird indeed.

ok let me give you all some more info -

1. I transfered this video card to another computer with a new motherboard and new everything.
2. What I notice too is that the weird problems always happen in the same places. (the roof on the wall has problems or the door) The problems always happen in the exact same places. For instance I play CS Source and I play Dust 2. NO PROBLEMS! Then I play office and boy is it screwed up.

Last night I rolled back old drivers and everything and once agian..no luck...

FEAR is also having hiccups when the action is getting hot and heavy. I also notice the shadow of my character in that game sometimes gets cut up.

dont know if this helps? Also I asked vavle though Steam but have yet to any answer yet...

OH I think you guys helped me fixed it!!!

What I did I used the Driver Cleaner and deleted the old driver..I downloaded an old driver from August of this year and NO MORE weird pixels!!!

But the game runs great except some slowdown and hiccups...THANKS GUYS!!

assuming that you did not overclocked video/mobo/cpu, if you did try getting the proper cooling system and or back off of it a little.
Otherwise, uninstall video driver, reboot, Driver cleanup and clean if found some reboot, turn your inti virus/spyware off, install new driver, reboot.
Also reboot once after HL2 installed and Defrag HD. Most game video sound hiccups are caused by HD fragment.
I have same card as you BFG Nividia Geforece 6800 GT Ultra OC and driver V. 81.85 works just fine without any glitches and or hiccups.

one question...what video driver is right for me? I have a windows xp media center edition 2002..when I go to nvidia.com they only have xp media center edition 2004/2005... so now im confused...
