I just bought this new PSU from newegg:
ASPIRE ATX-CW500WP4 ATX 500W Power Supply
and I'm freaking out a little bit because I am going to be hooking it up to some pretty expensive components and I am reading some mixed reviews about it on newegg. I know I should have done more research on it before I bought it, but it's too late for that now. Has anybody had any experience with this PSU? Should I hook it up to my new PC or just send it back without even trying it? Or does it look like it would be reliable?

Send it back and get a different one if you can get your money back. Otherwise just use it.

Look at the rails...the sticker on the side and the +3.3, +5 and +12 should be higher than 25 at least for it to be a good PSU. Below that and its a POS that can hurt/ruin components.

i think its decent enough for w/e your running. what are your pc specs anyways?

Ultra-x Connect !!!! Blue Uv ***pimped*** Ftw :d

Here are my new PC specs:
Athlon 64 X2 4400+
1024 MB PC3200 RAM
80 GB SATA HDD
60 GB ATA HDD
eVGA 6800 GS 256 MB
DVD-ROM
CD-RW
2 case fans

...but none of that matters because I RMA-ed the PSU. I was kinda pissed because I needed to pay $18 dollars including the shipping and the restocking fee, but I just didn't feel safe with it. I picked up an antec at compusa instead.

lol ok but the psu you had would do perfectly fine o well
