I too got one for my birthday :)

Highlight a song and just hit delete. If it won't let you, then click the little ipod button in the bottom right of the window, and change your options from "Automatically update songs" to "manually update songs". Having it automatically update everything is a pain anyway :P

The delete button on your keyboard bro

EDIT: I guess you're serious O_o

OK!

Hook up your iPod.

Go into iTunes

Click the little "iPod" looking button in the bottom right hand.

Change "automaticall update all songs and playlists" under the Music tab to "Manually manage songs and playlists".

If you uncheck the song in your library (blue box with checkmark) it should remove it from your ipod next time you connect it...i think.

Thx guys, one more question, it updated my ipod and itunes says its ok to disconnect my pod, but the nano itself is telling me not to. Is this because its deleting music? i also added a bunch. thxs

Just click the little eject button next to the ipod icon in iTunes.

If it's not being accessed though, it's perfectly safe to remove it.

Ok this makes no sense, i did everything you guys said and still nothing, it just says don't disconnect, so i wait over 2 hours say ***k it, disconnect, now its broken, it plays like one song...i dunno im kinda mad. i didn't think it would be so fragile

Maybe windows still thinks it's an active USB device. Have any icon by your clock for 'removing' usb drives? As long as you aren't transfering any thing to the drive or itunes isn't showing anything at the bottom for transfering tunes then you should be fine to unplug it.

Yeah, I do it all the time.

Oh well, don't wory, I **** mine up all the time. I've even had to reformat it just today :)

Just DL the iTunes firmware restore/upgrade tool from the Apple website and restore the firmware. If that doesn't work, or if it won't recognize your iPod, the PM me and I can help :)

Thx sinkoman, doing that fixed my ipod i was able to delete all the music and it plays what i put on there properly...............but( you knew that was coming) another problem has risen!!! And this is really weird, itll only let me put albums on my ipod that don't have a thumbnail pic?!?!?!?! It doesn't seem to be able to recognize anything else. I've tried turning thumbnails off but that doesn't do anything either.

EDIT but i can be those albums into my library

2nd EDIT: Nevermind i figured it out, thx guys id be screwed without ur help.
