My grandma, having gone through a pretty bad stroke is greatly incapacitated. I know this sounds really weird, but she gets bored around her house, and is tired of TV, and wants a video game to play with. Any suggestions?

Im thinking maybe Nintendogs because of the simple controls/not actually competitive.

What systems are available? PS2's are cheap and so is Katamari Damaci

get her a gamecube...........they're are a lot of fun party type games the she might like. Super Monkey Balls would be good or Mario Sunshine..........u can't go wrong with a good Mario game

Yeah, get her something that is simple and easy to pick up and get into. As halflifeguy said, a Nintendo GameCube should do her well.

I was thinking either gamecube or DS. The DS seems especially nice because touch screens are pretty self explanatory.

Super monkey balls is fun, though very frustrating sometimes.

burnout 3 / burnout revenge ... well maybe she might feel a bit disoriented from the speed

Grab your ol' dusty PsOne and put in Ape Escape!

That game will have your Grandma partying like an APE!

Seconded.

Amazing game.

Chex Quest! Very g-rated Doom mod, and a good way to get her hooked on FPS games. Once she's got the muscle memory down for controlling the character, move her to more story-intensive games that'll keep her riveted.

...plus Chex Quest is the Best!

If she is that kind of grandma that likes animals Nintendogs is the best choice.
Ive tryed to play video games with my grandpa but he just never gets to understand the controls, even if ive showed him 20 times :D
So my suggestion is to learn her play Poker or some other card games online, that way she wont get bored when communicating to other people.

Could have sworn I was the only person on the planet to play that game.
Did you get Chex Quest 2?

You're not alone. :O

Super NES

Super Mario Brothers
Donkey Kong Country

Get her a N64 or a Gamecube. Mario Party games will keep her busy for a while. (All 12 of em. :|)

Gamecube, and of course Soldier of fortune 2: Extra Bloody and scarey edition.

Seriously tho... your biggest issue is the controls - I don't know your grandma but I know mine would never be able to use any of the console controllers.
